Pinnacle has been proactive in trying to learn about evolving security standards and sharing that information with others in the c-store industry.  Pinnacle has delivered educational webinars and has participated in NACStech PCI sessions.  Pinnacle has also joined the PCI Security Standards Council.  Benefits of membership include reviewing proposed standards in advance.  Membership is open to retailers, vendors and processors. In February 2008 Pinnacle and Coalfire co-presented a webinar explaining the details of the new PABP announcement from Visa and why it is relevant to retailers. 

Protecting Your POS & Achieving PCI Compliance with Application Whitelisting

In August 2008 Pinnacle and Bit9 co-presented a webinar discussing how Bit9 Parity uses whitelisting and blacklisting methodology to help you secure your systems. 

PCI-DSS Vendor Safe: PCI in Plain English

In September 2010 Pinnacle and Vendor Safe co-hosted a webinar that introduces you to Vendor Safe’s VPN capabilities and how they can provide secure remote access to multi-site operators for real time reporting and other enterprise applications - all for an affordable, fixed monthly fee.

NACStech Sessions:

NACSTech 2008 featured three sessions about PCI.  Pinnacle and Coalfire participated in 2 of these.

NACStech 2009 featured a well-attended PCI track that included 7 workshops as well as some general sessions. Several Pinnacle clients and partners were instrumental in delivering the content this year.
