Pinnacle Loyalty Now Supports Conexxus Integration Standards

Arlington, Texas – The Pinnacle Corporation (www.pinncorp.com), the leader in mobile, loyalty and point-of-sale integration solutions for retail convenience stores, announced today the completion of its Pinnacle Loyalty suite integration with non-Pinnacle POS solutions using  the Conexxus Loyalty standard.

Pinnacle has a long history in the convenience store space with integrated Loyalty rewards and their Palm Point-of-Sale system. As Loyalty has grown more and more successful and vital for customer engagement, Pinnacle expanded its offerings into mobile applications- for ways to extend offers and promotions to consumers via mobile -driving traffic, increasing spend, and communicating with them in the most effective way possible. By further enhancing the Pinnacle Loyalty suite to include non-Palm POS, clients can integrate their rewards programs in a more diverse hardware and software environment.

“While Pinnacle offers a completely integrated POS, Loyalty Rewards, and Mobile App solution suite, we understand retailers are looking for Loyalty and Mobile solutions that will integrate with their existing POS platforms, to optimize their hardware and software investments,” said Melissa Fox Hadley, Director of Product Management at Pinnacle.

“Pinnacle has a long history of partnership and collaboration with Conexxus and we are proud to be able to support the Conexxus loyalty standards to offer a loyalty suite, fully integrated with Pinnacle POS, Affiniti Mobile and now other Point-of-Sale systems- ensuring that retailers have the tools in hand to increase customer loyalty and drive store profits.”

Pinnacle and Lynch Oil launch the Mr. Gas Consumer Mobile App

Arlington, Texas – The Pinnacle Corporation (www.pinncorp.com), the leader in mobile, loyalty and point-of-sale integration solutions for retail convenience stores, and Lynch Oil (www.lynchoilinc.com ) announced today the launch of the new Mr. Gas consumer facing mobile app for customers located in the Burley, Idaho area.

Several years ago, Lynch Oil deployed Pinnacle’s fully integrated Palm POS and Loyalty Rewards suite of products. As their loyalty program grew more and more successful, Lynch looked for ways to extend offers and promotions to their consumers via mobile -driving traffic, increasing spend, and communicating with them in the most effective way possible. With their Mr. Gas mobile app, built on the Pinnacle Affiniti mobile platform, Lynch Oil is able to influence their consumers’ behavior and drive store traffic in ways they had not been able before.

“Today’s consumers keep their mobile phones closer to their hand than the wallet that holds their cards.  Offering a mobile app to our customers allows us to offer convenience before they even walk in the store,” says Nick Lynch, President of Triple S Oil/Lynch Oil. “Consumers will be able to sign up for loyalty rewards directly through the app. They’ll also get promo offers, updates on pricing, and they’ll be able to check their loyalty points balance including their status on their club punches.  We are looking forward to the new opportunities that our Mr. Gas mobile app offers our business and our customers.”

The Lynch Oil Mr. Gas mobile app provides consumers with a map of stores and gas prices, allowing them to select their favorites to display on the home screen. Consumers can pay for merchandise and fuel from the app as well, making it fast and easy to complete purchases and be on their way. The Mr. Gas app also stores electronic receipts and receives notifications of new offers, displaying those offers and other deals as well as club card program status and points balances.

“The roll-out by Lynch Oil of their Mr. Gas mobile application is an exciting milestone for us and we could not be more pleased to have worked with the Lynch team. Pinnacle is able to offer a suite of loyalty solutions, fully integrated with Pinnacle POS and Affiniti Mobile, to achieve the ultimate consumer experience- ensuring that retailers have the tools in hand to increase customer loyalty and drive store profits,” said Melissa Fox Hadley, Director of Product Management at Pinnacle.

Bluefin Payment Systems & Pinnacle Corporation Announce Partnership for PCI-Validated P2PE

Pinnacle clients can get the security and cost savings of PCI-validated P2PE through Pinnacle’s Palm POS™ platform, with no change to their acquiring or processing relationship with NBS

Atlanta, GA and Arlington, TX – Bluefin Payment Systems and The Pinnacle Corporation (Pinnacle), the leading supplier of technology automation solutions for retail convenience stores and fuel inventory management, today announced a partnership to provide Bluefin’s PCI-validated Point-to-Point Encryption (P2PE) solution through Pinnacle’s Palm POS™ platform.

Pinnacle provides leading-edge point of sale, loyalty, and both corporate and consumer facing mobile technology to the retail convenience store and fuel inventory management industries. Pinnacle’s products and services are used daily in thousands of convenience outlets to improve their store operations and extend the brand of retailers through the growing mobile landscape.

Bluefin is the leading provider of PCI-validated P2PE integrated and stand-alone solutions for point of sale, mobile, call center and kiosk/unattended environments in the education, fuel, healthcare and retail industries.  Bluefin’s PCI-validated P2PE solution secures card transactions by encrypting all data within a PCI-approved point of entry swipe or keypad device, preventing clear-text cardholder data from being available while it’s in the merchant’s system or in-transit to the processing host where it could be exposed to malware.

“There is a tremendous demand for PCI-validated P2PE solutions in the convenience store and fuel industries,” said Denise Lewis, POS and Payments Product Manager at Pinnacle. “Our clients understand the importance of encryption in securing their customer’s credit and debit card transactions. While EMV protects the card itself from duplication, it does not encrypt the data flowing from the card. Bluefin’s solution devalues card data, while possibly providing significant PCI scope reduction and cost benefits.”

Bluefin’s PCI P2PE solution is available through Pinnacles’ Palm POS touch screen point-of-sale system. Designed and developed specifically for the convenience petroleum industry, Palm POS is highly configurable and provides the flexibility to work within any infrastructure and with a variety of peripherals. Clients currently utilizing Palm POS 12.5.x can get the validated P2PE solution with no changes to their processing or transaction environment required.

“No industry is immune to data breaches, even those that you would not think of as typical retail establishments, such as fuel management,” said Greg Cornwell, SVP of Security Solutions for Bluefin. “Card data is card data to hackers and that is why technologies such as PCI-validated P2PE are very important to every industry. We applaud Pinnacle for recognizing the benefits of PCI-validated P2PE for their clients and offering our solution through their Palm POS platform.”

Benefits of a PCI-validated P2PE solution for merchants include reduced PCI compliance and scope, saving time and money on annual audits, and the assurance that the technology has been vetted and approved by the PCI Security Standards Council (SSC). A white paper on the cost and scope benefits of PCI-validated P2PE is available for download on http://www.bluefin.com/.

Pinnacle announces launch of mobile payment solutions

Arlington, Texas: The Pinnacle Corporation (Pinnacle) announces the launch of its Mobile Payment solution on the Affiniti™ Consumer Mobile app. This feature works in concert with Zipline (formerly NPC/NPCA), to process mobile payments as an ACH transaction.

Mobile payment options continue to evolve, and consumers are expecting more and more apps to support paying for gas and in-store purchases from their mobile device. The Affiniti Consumer Mobile App provides a simple, easy to use interface to process payments via ACH payment processing. The consumer need only download the mobile app, register their payment information, and they are ready.

Millennials are as much as 2.5 times more likely to try new technology compared to other groups (source: U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation). Convenience store retailers who cater to the demands of this demographic stand to reap the rewards of their loyalty and have a competitive edge. By offering mobile payments in conjunction with other app features such as location amenities, gas prices and promotional offers, retailers can attract and retain this new ‘boom’ generation.

Pinnacle Mobile Solutions provides clients an opportunity to add a mobile payment option to their Affiniti consumer facing solutions, as well as a corporate mobile app for management and employees – making sure your customers get the most from every visit to your store, and your business works for you wherever you happen to be. With mobile the way of the future, we strive to put your business in the palm of your hand.

Pinnacle Attends NACS Industry Update Luncheon

February 1st and 3rd, 2017 –  As a Hunter Club member, The Pinnacle Corporation (Pinnacle) attended the NACS Industry Update Luncheons in San Antonio and Houston, Texas, last week. These events provide Pinnacle the industry insights and professional collaboration opportunities that help us anticipate the needs of convenience store retailers.

Led by NACS President and CEO, Henry Armour, attendees learned vital information on important legislative and regulatory issues, data analysis broken out by region and planned initiatives for the coming year. Pinnacle was also able to connect with retailers and vendors in a more intimate setting to learn more about how these challenges and opportunities affect them and their companies.

Leading topics of interest focused on data and payment security, and labor issues including training, efficiency and retention. “NACS presented relevant and detailed data in a way that allowed vendors and retailers to make important decisions for 2017 with the most comprehensive information,” says Adam Mitchell, Marketing Manager at Pinnacle.

Discussions on the continued development and pending deadlines for EMV, anti-skimming and fraud prevention, and emerging payment channels such as Mobile Pay allows Pinnacle to keep our Multi-Site SkimDefend Mobile App, Point-to-Point encryption research and Affiniti Mobile Pay systems ready to meet the needs of retailers now and in the future. A focus on staffing efficiency and labor-saving technology informs how we continue to enhance our Palm POS, making it the most user-friendly point of sale on the market.

Pinnacle’s continued relationship with NACS and other vital industry organizations not only molds our software strategies in the near future, but cements the collaborative perspective we have with regards to partner and client participation in enhancing our technology solutions.

Pinnacle Launches SkimDefend™ Multi-Site Mobile App

Arlington, Texas – January 30, 2017:  The Pinnacle Corporation (Pinnacle), announces the launch of the SkimDefend™ Multi-Site Mobile App for use by convenience store retailers in the prevention of tampering, fraud and theft. SkimDefend is the result of a previous collaboration between Pinnacle and NACS to assist retailers in safeguarding consumer transaction data, with Multi-Site as the next stage in fraud protection.

One of the simplest ways to prevent fraudulent tampering at the pump is by placing a NACS WeCare decal across the span between the terminal body and the access doors. The stickers show a VOID message if someone tampers with the placement. However, for the decals to work most effectively, employees need to check on them regularly and keep detailed records of each visual inspection. The new SkimDefend app (powered by the Pinnacle Corporation) aims to enhance the WeCare process by making it easier and more streamlined. As featured in NACS Magazine, May 2016.

Built on the Affiniti Mobile secure, cloud platform, the SkimDefend Multi-Site Mobile App is the first Affiniti Corporate Mobile module. Born from the single-site SkimDefend app, the SkimDefend Multi-Site app is an enhanced version of our single store tamper reporting tool- now for retailers with multiple stores and added reporting abilities to safeguard your customers and your business against fraud.

Skimming and theft are real problems and companies need to not only detract thieves but monitor when a potential problem has occurred. With registered security labels and the SkimDefend App, stores can provide routine visual evidence and online reporting to catch damaged or compromised labels and halt skimming and fraud immediately. SkimDefend works for multiple asset-management; any security label can be scanned and tracked for integrity, be it on pumps or cash-registers and more.

Pinnacle Holds Annual Strategy & Planning Meeting

Arlington, Texas – The Pinnacle Corporation (Pinnacle), held its Annual Strategy and Planning Meeting January 19-20th at their headquarters in Arlington, Texas. The meeting brought together Pinnacle’s Senior Management, Product Management and Development, and Sales and Marketing teams to plan and implement strategies for new solutions and updates to their existing product lines, POS, Loyalty and Mobile. The team is excited about plans to grow new and existing Pinnacle solutions that will continue to address the latest industry trends to meet retailer needs now and in the future.

Among top items discussed, the Pinnacle Affiniti™ Mobile platform continues to play a crucial and exciting role in the progression of our Mobile and integrated Loyalty offerings. Lynch Oil, with their Mr. Gas Affiniti Mobile App, has completed the final stages of beta development and the Lynch team is excited to see the anticipated results of improved adoption, promotions and traffic since testing began in late September.

“Today’s consumers keep their mobile phones closer to their hand than the wallet that holds their cards.  Offering a mobile app to our customers allows us to offer convenience before they even walk in the store,” says Nick Lynch, President of Triple S Oil. “Consumers will be able to sign up for loyalty rewards directly through the app, they’ll also get promo offers, updates on pricing, and they’ll be able to check their loyalty points balance including their status on their club punches.  We are looking forward to the new opportunities that our Mr. Gas mobile app offers our business and our customers.”

In addition to Affiniti Mobile, the Pinnacle Loyalty Suite is now the most device and system malleable in the industry. Soon able to integrate with POS systems in addition to Pinnacle’s Palm POS™, the Loyalink® loyalty solution integrates easily with existing back office and front of house software- making ease of implementation fast and efficient, so retailers and their customers can start gaining value quickly.

With regards to POS, Pinnacle continues to be the industry leader in completing EMV certification and meeting regulatory requirements. The Palm POS system has been and continues to be the most open, flexible, platform enabling a customized fit to each client’s unique operation. The strategy and planning meeting included conversations about new POS features and Pinnacle’s continued successes related to being a POS provider with more integrations with more partners than any other company. A strength that has and will continue to propel Pinnacle’s POS solution forward is the strategy of a POS platform that protects and preserves the retailer’s investment. The architecture you ran yesterday will be what you run tomorrow; we innovate with software, not hardware.

Through industry involvement such as its partnership with NACS and the SkimDefend™ Mobile App, Pinnacle is making customer data security and convenience store liability priorities the safest and most cost effective environment possible. And with the release of the SkimDefend Multi-Site Mobile App, retailers who manage multiple convenience stores will have the benefit of corporate loss prevention reporting to alert them to possible label tampering resulting in risk of skimming or other theft.

Pinnacle continues its decades long commitment to the convenience store industry now and into the future with innovation and thought leadership. Pinnacle Point of Sale, Loyalty and Mobile solutions give retailers the decided edge over competition- driving traffic, driving sales and driving profits.
