Pinnacle Releases Version of Palm Point of Sale Software to Help Retailers Comply with Age Restricted Item Sales

Arlington, Texas, September 30, 2019 – The Pinnacle Corporation
(www.pinncorp.com), the leader in point-of-sale, loyalty and customer engagement solutions, and cloud mobile platform products for retail convenience stores, announced today the release of their Palm POS software to allow merchants to deploy innovative age-verification and bulk limit technology.

Palm POS creates a system that remains locked until a retailer electronically scans a valid, of-age government-issued ID, to verify both the age and the ID validity. It also restricts individuals buying bulk quantities of age-restricted items.

Said Mike Vaughn, VP Software and Services, The Pinnacle Corporation,
“Pinnacle is proud to have created a solution that will help our customers implement the strictest age verification system ever required for age-restricted products.”

The Palm POS software updates include restrictions to limit the age verification methods to 2D scan or magnetic swipe only and the sale must be blocked if the customer’s id is invalid. In addition, the customer’s full name and one (1) other identifying information that is NOT date-of-birth or expiration date must be displayed to the cashier and the items per transaction can be limited to comply with requirements like those related to products such as those from JUUL Labs.
